Research Interests
Professor Tony Goddard is Professor of Environmental Safety with Special Reference
to Nuclear Power (Part Time) in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering and works
in support of the AMCG group in COSMIC. His research interests are mainly in reactor physics,
nuclear criticality and nuclear waste related issues, but also extend to the group's work to
reapply engineering fluids techniques to next generation oceanographic modelling.
He also has an interest in safety policy and the role of government. He was until recently
an independent member of: the HSC's Nuclear Safety Advisory Committee NUSAC and is currently
an independent member of Nirex's Waste Management Advisory Committee WMAC and of the dstl
Depleted Uranium Independent Review Board.
